Ind versus Aus Day 2, WTC 2023 Finale: India end on 151/5 at Stumps, trail by 318 runs.
As Steven Smith got to his 31st test century, Travis Head scored magnificent 150 runs. Yet, both were sent back by Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Siraj before Tea. Later, Shami even picked the wicket of Cameron Green.
Following the departure of Smith and Head, Indian bowlers were on fire and derailed Australian batting lineup, halting Australia to 469. For India, Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur picked two wickets each, while Ravindra Jadeja secured one. Be that as it may, the star bowler for India was Mohammed Siraj who picked 4 big wickets.
In spite of Indian bowlers brilliant comeback on Day 2 and stopping Australians at 469, the batting dept. couldn't stand up to expectations in front of the Australian pace attack. India somehow crossed the 151-run mark losing 5 wickets at Stumps and is still 318 runs behind.
Except Ajinkya Rahane's (29*) and Ravindra Jadeja (48), no other Indian batsmen could cross the 25-runs mark.
For Australia, every one of the bowlers - Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Scott Boland, Cameron Green, and Nathan Lyon - picked one wicket each.
